Meet Moonrise

Introducing Moonrise

Today I am excited to introduce you to Moonrise our latest theme for restaurants and businesses. For some time I’ve wanted to offer a theme that filled the same niche as our ever popular Foxy theme. I wanted it to have a large visual impact like Foxy and also have the option of using it as a single page website. So after months of brainstorming, wire framing and development, I’m excited to let you finally meet Moonrise.

Home Page

We’ve made a highly configurable home page. It features seven content sections with optional image “windows” between them. It’s a great effect that really catches your visitor’s attention. Here are the section options you can choose from:

  • Menu: Easily display your food menu.
  • Services: Add a list of your business services.
  • Staff: Show off the people who make your business work.
  • Slider: Add a slider with images/video and text too.
  • Contact: Include a map, plus your address and hours in an elegant way.
  • Page Content: Insert the content from a WordPress page.
  • Widgets: Use WordPress widgets on your home page.

Each section is optional so you can include as much or little as you need to.

Blog and Inside Pages

Many single page sites just don’t offer your visitors everything they need. There’s where Moonrise is different. You can have a full website with lots of room for content. You can have a full blog additional menu, staff and services pages and so on. It’s easy to set up and can grow with you.

Your visitors are using their smartphones and tablets to visit your site. Be ready for them with Moonrise. It’s responsive so it adapts to the size of the device used to view your site. Your visitors get an experienced that’s tailored for their chosen smart product.

Easy Customization

To make customizing Moonrise for your business even easier, we’ve built in support for WordPress’ theme customizer. Now you can choose colors and see how they’ll look on your site before you even save them. It’s fun to experiment with color options without affecting the front of your site until you’re ready.

You can see some sites using the theme. If you’ll take a look in our showcase, The Glass Factory and Chicounou both are made with Moonrise.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Bill, Moonrise looks beautiful. I can imagine this theme will be just as successful as Foxy. Congrats!

What is the name of the image scrolling effect on the front page (where the image seems to be in fixed position but changes with each new section)?

Thanks Josh! I’m not sure of what the name of the effect is. The fist place I saw it was at ebay.com/new. I had originally planned to use the curtains.js script for a single page restaurant theme, but I was having trouble making it reliably responsive. This effect was the perfect replacement.
