Today we’re excited to share with you our first free theme via the WordPress.org directory, Simple & Clean.
The WordPress Foundation has asked all commercial theme providers to contribute to the free themes directory, so this is our contribution. It’s a simple and easy to use blog theme with a modern edge. We’ve included options for choosing just about any color in the theme as well as some select Google Fonts.
It has built in support for featured images and videos via the post formats. It also has an author box so you can connect with your readers more easily.
You can explore the theme demo and download it for free too!
If you’d like to follow development or contribute to it, you can do that at Github.
We will happily provide support for any of our existing customers. We hope you enjoy it.

Hey Bill, Its me again!
I’ve been continuing to play around with the video options on the front page. I have the ‘full content’ option selected in Options as you suggested but I am not getting the video displayed on the front page. I’d love to have the option of videos appearing either above or below the post on my front page(above I can do using the ‘video’ option you mentioned before).
Any tips?
Cheers
Sam

I believe I misunderstood what you were looking for earlier. You’re wanting to have a video above the list of posts and not above individual posts like the video format allows. You could do that with a bit of editing. Here’s how:
and right below that enter the embed code for the video you’d like to have there.
That should add in a video above the list of posts there. See how that works for you.

Hey Sam,
Here’s how videos are made to work with the theme. If you choose the video “format” it will pull the first video from your post and place it above the title in the “blog” or archive similar to how the featured images work.
If you don’t want to use the video format but you’d still like to have the video displayed in your blog archive you can do that too. Go to the Theme Options page and select the Content tab. At the top there you can choose how much of your posts is visible there. The default is the excerpt, but you can change that to the full post to show everything including the video.
Hope that helps out,
Bill

Hi Bill,
I have just tried the link and it works just fine. Thank you.
One other quick question, I like to have all of my blog posts displayed on the front page but embedded videos will only display once you click through to the main blog post. Can this be changed by editing the index.php page as I can’t see how I would do it?
Cheers

Hi Bill,
Looked at lots of themes and chose this one which I love, so good job on the designing of it. Thanks.
I’ve been trying to find the RSS URL for my blog to use to sync it up with Facebook and Twitter but after a lot of searching and experimenting I just cant seem to get it to work. Is this something to do with the theme? or me?!
Thanks, Sam

Hello Sam,
Great question. WordPress generates several RSS feeds automatically for sites. There’s a Codex article at http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Feeds that talks about them in more detail.
The main site feed will be at http://yoursite.com/feed so for your site it would be http://frequencycowboy.com/blog/feed/
If that’s not quite what you’re looking for, just let me know.
Thanks,
Bill
