Kerygma Theme

Introducing The Kerygma Church Theme

Kerygma Theme

Today we’re excited to announce the release of our latest theme, Kerygma. In case you were wondering the name is the Greek word for preaching. We selected the name to reflect the themes emphasis on drawing visitors in through messages. While all of our church themes support podcasting, Kerygma takes the art to a new level.

Deep Podcasting Integration

With Kerygma, we really wanted to keep your church’s message podcasts in front of the visitors. We’ve expanded the support of message series so that recent series are visible by graphic at the bottom of each message. Also you’ll see other messages from the same series when viewing an individual message.

With video continuing to grow in importance, we’ve refined our video support to include both self hosted and service based videos (think YouTube or Vimeo). You can generate video and audio feeds for your podcasts so people can subscribe in the medium they’d like to use.

We’ve also added in a current series widget that will display the series graphic, description and link to the series archive from any widget area. It’s a good way to connect visitors to what’s happening right now at your church.

Out of the Box Design

kerygma-fullWith Kerygma, we wanted to have a church theme that was beyond a standard, “boxed-in” website. So the top of any page can feature a “hero section” with a impactful image text and a button. There are three heights you can choose from here. The normal height is 600 pixels tall. There is also a “small” version at 300 pixels tall (good for just a bit of character on a page) and a full screen option that will cause the hero to fill the screen completely.

The home page is completely widgetized so you can drag and drop your content to give you the appearance you’re going for. We’ve created three new widgets just for the home page to give you new options in how you engage your visitors. You can place two connect boxes side by side to have a full width strip of image and text that can be used to send your visitors to relevant parts of your site. Each one can have unique colors, text, background and links. They can also be full width instead of half-width.

We’ve also made a welcome box widget which also features a background image, text and also support for a navigation menu as well. You can use it as a sort of mini-directory on your home page.

Customizable

Being able to customize your site simply is essential so we’ve made Kerygma so it has full support for the theme customizer. You can add your logo, social links, navigation menu, colors, fonts and more all without needing to touch the code.

We’ve worked extra hard to make things straightforward and simple. The theme is coded for speed and ease of use.

Be sure to check out the demo of Kerygma. It’s available now for $49.

If I use this, can I create memberships, allow members to upload videos, allow members to interact with each other, access pdfs/ebooks/podcasts?

    Maria,

Excellent question. You’d probably want to use the theme along the BuddyPress plugin to create those social aspects. It’s often described as social networking in a box.

    Take care,
    Bill
